Are We Affiliated with AA?

NoAlcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a ‘fellowship of people’ who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.” The primary purpose of A.A. is to carry its message of recovery to the alcoholic seeking help. In accordance with A.A.’s Sixth Tradition, it does not “endorse, finance, or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise…” A.A. has published guidance on its relationship to clubs which may be of benefit to review.

WCAC is a non-profit corporation formed in the tradition of many Alano Clubs throughout the world to provide A.A. and other recovery or “12-Step groups” a place to meet and engage in fellowship. WCAC is completely separate and autonomous from A.A. and is governed by its own Board of Directors and members.
