Membership Meeting

August 19 at 7:45 PM

All club members and interested club participants are welcome to attend.

Membership meetings may include discussion of club business, upcoming decisions,
events, building matters, and other items important to the Walworth County Alano Club.

When voting is required, only current paid members of the club may vote
on matters brought before the membership.

Your participation helps support the club and its future.

Topics for Discussion

1. Monthly Cleaning Party

• Schedule a monthly deep-cleaning party.
• Organize materials into three separate sections: AA, WCAC, and Community.
• Consider supplying pizza or another incentive to help recruit volunteers.

2. Potential Club Liaison Position

• Leave the position open for now while its responsibilities are developed.
• The liaison could help organize meetings and meeting contacts.
• The liaison could communicate club information to each meeting.

3. Starting and Chairing Meetings

• Discuss the qualifications and criteria for starting a meeting at the club.
• Melanie will prepare a rough draft of the proposed criteria and bring it to the membership meeting.
• Explore offering a seminar on how to chair a meeting.
• Jamie, Brandi, and Lisa may collaborate on developing the seminar.
• Pete will explore the mental health community’s interest in a possible once-a-month meeting.

4. Maintenance and Club Improvements

• Air-conditioner service update following the scheduled July 14 service.
• Discuss service work needed to complete club improvements. Kelley has a list.
• The driveway is being sealed through a donation from Pete. Thank you, Pete!
• Discuss whether club members may continue parking at the neighboring law offices after they move.
• Discuss whether lawn service may be needed.

5. Events

• Bingo Night begins in September and will be held on the last Friday of each month.
• Kelley has the bingo sheets, and candy is being considered for prizes.
• Lisa will cover the event.
• Brandi will provide an update on other activities and is looking for committee members and support.

6. NA Meetings

• Decisions about how the club will support NA meetings moving forward are being tabled for further discussion.
• NA is looking for pamphlets, key tags, and possibly medallions.

7. Holiday Party

• December 12 at Lake Lawn Resort
• Fellowship begins at 4:30 PM.
• Dinner begins at 5:30 PM.
• The speaker begins at 8:00 PM.
• Ticket pricing will be discussed.

Website Migration and Platform Update

• Bob will present the proposed website update.
• The existing website would be migrated to a new platform.
• The cost is $250 for migration and $25 per month through Grey Owl Group.
• The new platform will provide improved efficiency and allow additional features in the future.
• A membership vote is required before the club can move forward.
